Kim R. Cassell has more than 12 years experience
working with social service agencies in leadership roles, grant writing,
training and education. As a
member of the GBC staff, Kim is charged with the responsibility of
working with community-based agencies, non-profit organizations and
other corporations interested in impacting small disadvantage
communities, urban inner city neighborhoods and international
disadvantaged communities.
Kim has a background in psychological sciences, program development
and research. She has worked
extensively in the New Orleans
, Louisiana area to help small disadvantaged businesses use existing community
resources to better serve their clients.
Ms. Cassell worked with
the
Mirabeau
Family
Learning
Center, a leader in the Louisiana Welfare Reform Movement during the mid 1990s.
Her role included assisting low-income, disadvantaged women learn skills necessary to
overcome the long-term effects of the welfare system.
As a result of her experience in this area, Kim became a Program
Consultant with Restoration Consultants and Open World Family Services,
Inc. Ms. Cassell was involved with developing the Educational and Training
Services Programs for these organizations. The Project resulted in
productive skill development and higher retention rate for low-income
and disadvantaged community members returning to the work place.
As a consultant Ms. Cassell has been able to use
her skills and abilities to write grants, as well as design, implement
and evaluate programs which improve and enhance the quality of life for
residents in New Orleans, Louisiana. In
her new role as Associate Partner for the GBC Social Services Practice,
Ms. Cassell will be given the opportunity to further expand her
abilities and enhance our stake in developing under-privileged
communities..
Ms. Kim Cassell holds a B.A. in Psychology from Loyola University
and a M.S. in Psychological Sciences from Tulane University.
